Exporting PDF from Inventor 2017

Hello everybody,

when I export a drawing that contains some Czech text with letters like č, ř, ž... into pdf I can't copy the text by ctr+c from the pdf because it wont copy those specific czech letters. Is there anyway to change the encoding in inventor or is there any other solution?

example - ČÍSLO SOUČÁSTI -> SLO SOUSTI

Is it possible to upload an example?

Have you tried to print to a pdf instead of exporting? I think there your should have more possibilities to intervene, such as forcing the text to be translated as graphics.

Just guesses... if I could have the dataset it would be easier.

Hello Sofia,

yes I’m still intersted in getting assistance. Sorry for my delayed answer. I’m sending you 2 samples. Sample 1 is made through export and Sample 2 is made through PDF printer. In the Sample 1 u can’t copy czech latters how i mentioned in first post. I’m using export because I need to save it by ilogic to a folder by a number and name of secific components. I didn’t find a way to save it to a folder by a number and name through PDF printer. But u can copy czech letters without problem from PDF made by the PDF printer. I’m not sure if u understand me.. I’m sorry for my english if u have any questions ask me and I will try to explain it better.

I am able to select the edit the text in your Sample1 and Sample2 file with Adobe Acrobat DC. It's does't like the "ISOCP_IV50" font but I can use the "Edit function, select, delete and add text in the text boxes.

Hello,

If I understand u right you rewrite the FDF. That's possible but it's really huge amount of drawings and that would be really time consuming. I would like to make it automate.

your dataset is just the *.ipt, and the *.idw you used to create your drawings. I'd like to have these files to test it myself. In your sample1 pdf I couldn't copy the Czech symbols either.

Hi Rosen,

I read that you using iLogic, but could you try Inventor TaskScheduler?

It is possible to print all files or specific by type of file. You can add Folder or files.

Step to print files:

1. Start TaskScheduler
2. Create Task -> Print files ...
3. Add folder or files
4. Click on option, and set the PDF printer
5. Set time when you want do this task or check Immediately option
6. Click on Ok

@Sofia.Xanthopoulou Sofia, So are you saying that you opened his provided dataset and didn't have a problem when you tried task scheduler or other methods?

And shouldn't the output (problem) be the same if they used ilogic or task scheduler? Both are using Inventors internal PDF creation functions correct?

I have no trouble printing PDFs and keeping the special characters .

FYI, I use PDF creator.
