I've gone through some solutions and I think it may have something to do with a dialog box that isn't visible as I am able to hit escape and move stuff around, but it doesn't update or let me check it in.

I have a fresh install of Inventor 2015 SP 2 on a new HP computer running Win 10 64 bit. When I open and assembly and get the dialog box asking to update components, if I click yes, it will lock up, but never crash. This also happens if I click no and then try to click the updates button or check out the file from Vault. This does not happen if I change my project file to one that does not use Vault.

Inventor 2015 is not supported on Windows 10..

The proper solution would be to either update your version of Inventor to 2017 or go back to Windows 7

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Windows-10-support-for-Autodesk-products.html

System requirements here.. Note Windows 10 is not supported and you should expect issues..

Graphics card driver update fixed the problem of the invisible dialog boxes. Seems to work fine with Win 10.
