Shift key not working in inventor hsm pro 2017

After cleaning my keyboard using the shift key and select No longer select multiple items. It seems like my shift key is not working for orbit anymore either. Any solutions?

Sounds like a mechanical issue. I would blow out your keyboard with canned air then reboot your machine. Based on what you are saying I would venture to bet it is not just Inventor these keys are not working for.

I read the can of air suggestion above but did you ever try to run a keyboard through the dishwasher? Search: running a keyboard through the dishwasher

I just wiped the keyboard with a lens cleaning wipe so it didn't damage anything. The shift key works in windows but no in inventor.

Shift key works just fine in Inventor HSM 2017..

Your keyboard is not though.. Good luck

Im using a laptop so I can not replace the keyboard. The shift key works in all other programs and in Windows as well. Its something to do with with inventor.

Did you restart your computer?

Are you sure its not partially stuck down? <---I bet it is..

I guarantee its not something specific to Inventor as it works just fine and did before you cleaned your keyboard..

After you cleaned your keyboard its not working.. That 100% points to cleaning your keyboard as the issue..

Remove the key, clean ti really well, put it back or whatever you need to do..

The key is not functioning properly on your keyboard..

Inventor has no "Disable Shift Key After Keyboard Cleaning" checkbox that I'm aware of

Not sure what else we can tell you. If the keyboard was working with Inventor prior to this unfortunate accident, then there is something internally wrong.

I know my wife has dropped her cell phone in the dish water before and placed it in a bowl of rice and after a few days it started working again.

I get that you are telling us every other program is working other then Inventor. Maybe do a clean uninstall of Inventor and reinstall it.

I can hold shift and select multiple bodies but I can't use the arrow key and shift to select multiple items, and I can't use shift and click to orbit but shift is working in all other shortcuts in inventor.

I thought it wasn't working at all?

What is the arrow key? What environment/function are you trying to use shift + some arrow key to multiselect?

I have many arrow keys on my computer.. Got an up.. got a down.. Got a left.. Got a right.. Got a 4/left, Got a 8/up, got a 6/right, got a 2/down

Is num lock on or off?

What are you pressing to "click to orbit".. Middle mouse button right?

Did you restart your computer? (echo...echo..)

Reboot/restart has been suggested 3X now.

Call IT and order a new PC.

Yes I have restated it a couple times with no luck. I still can not orbit using shift and click.

"click"... What button is that?

Orbit is "Shift + Middle Mouse Button"
