You would model it? Or am I missing something.. Or are you asking us how to model it?

What Inventor version?

Are you looking to make the mold as well?

Do you know the dimensional values of this part?

Educational Version of 2016.

How do I make the part itself?

Which features/ribbons should I use to make this part? Extrusion? Revolve? There are a lot of things that he has not taught us yet.

The dimension values are 49.69 mm in diameter for the thick outer part of the ring. The inside circle is 42.64 mm in diameter for the inside, smaller part of the ring. The dimension of the little thickness is 1.59 mm and the height is 8.97 mm. 7.23 mm for squares. (Measured with Digital Calipers).

@Anonymous

I'm adding my 2cents here... Really, your instructor has not even taught you how to sketch and to create an extrusion yet? That's basically like #1 in learning Inventor besides a few other stuff. Even if that's the case.. This alarm clock would not be your first project.

If you did already learned how to sketch, and create an extrusion or even revolve. Give a try yourself and then post what you have...

@Anonymous Are you in class right now? If no when is your next Inventor class?

When that happens.. Get up and ask your teacher..

Let them know that you are having difficulty even getting started and let them actually "teach"...

Or just look at the part and use that brain... See what features you see..

Do you see circles.. IF so draw/extrude circles..

If you see squares.. draw/extrude squares..

Give it a try.. Model something.. Then post the ipt file (as far as you can get with it) and we can work with you (but your teacher should be a better source of instruction)
