Hi,

Before posting this I have searched this forum on this topic but couldn't found a solution to this topic. I have a problem with modeling a weld of a nozzle in a dished head. The same applies to a nozzle to shell weld.

Mission:
To make a model of a weld of a nozzle in a dished head like shown in attached weld detail with a fillet weld.

Problem:
Attached I have added the inventor parts. Up to weld preparations I don't have a problem. Now when I try to make a fillet weld I get several errors. I have tried several different inputs but most of the time I get "The specific inputs did not produce a meaningful Fillet Bead spine. Try with different input faces."

When I use the groove weld feature I do get a solution but here I can't size the weld leg. So how do I tweak the fillet weld inputs to model this fillet weld? Or is it possible to model a groove weld and put a small fillet weld on top?

A work around I have used is to put in the groove weld and then place the fillet weld on top of it.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried your suggestion but somehow I can't get it done. Can you demonstrate it in my assembly and post it here?

When I remove the weld gap between the nozzle and the dished head, I'm able to get a result with two fillet features. I would like to get some results with a weld gap incorporated in the design. Is this possible?
