Creating a 180 degree dimension of linear lines

Hello,

I created a 180° dimension off two linear lines. as shown in the attached image. I have no clue how i did this and could not recreate it if you paid me too. can some one please help me figure out how?

Did you do it intentionally ages ago and can't remember how or by accident?

Have you checked your precision on the dimension?

They may not be dead on parallel.

May be projected from drawing sketch or retrieved from model sketch.

Does look jimmied though. Inventor does not like 0° or 180°.

i was attempting to do it today, and then somehow accidentally did it. the precision is set to 0.

Does model value stay 180 if you increase precision? see second image.

Is there a sketch on that view? if there is it could have been to generate an angle dimension.

I can replicate but requires a drag fit.

Pick 3 points not linear then drag end point of angular dimension to a point that is linear with other 2 points.

It looks like Inventor does like 180°

This feels like what i did maybe, i know i clicked several times

it also shows these three points in the middle when i hover over the dim

Yes, I saw the 3 points, that's what made me try the points selection.

It's a useful option, that I didn't know could be done, everyday is a school day.

Someone will probably decide it's a bug and remove it from the next version!

Select points as image 1,2,3 on the model mid points and end point, not the centrelines.

This will give you a random angle, place the dim at whatever it comes out at.

Then select the point 3 of the dimension and drag it across to the mid point of the diameter.

Hopefully it should then hold at 180°
