Hi All

Simple question - I've got a drawing showing pipework created in Tube and Pipe.

How do I shade specific sections of pipework? The only options I can see (after selecting the sections in the model tree) are to change the line weight, colour and type.

Many thanks

Without testing it in a T&P model not sure this information (from @Curtis_Waguespack) will help you.

The easiest way is to create the views you want, go to the top ribbon Sketch tab > Start Sketch > select the view you want to start shading, should have a red dotted line around it > will go into sketch mode, Create tab > Project Geometry (or draw your own lines, should snap to edges, make sure the loop is closed, check by right click Close Loop) > Fill/Hatch Region > select edge of closed area you want to shade - it should highlight the entire loop, select paint bucket or hatch button, select Color or choose hatch options (Other... will allow you to import custom designs if necessary). This is not always the best way but good to know how to do in a pinch or when you can't get it just right.

You could always control the color in the model with appearance overrides on the desired pipe runs, and use a shaded view (or combination views as described in the above post).

I've done this in the past for a client who is required to color code all his piping runs based on what the lines service (i.e. air, oil, water, etc)

He has created specific T&P styles to accomplish this, but the same could be done easily with color overrides.
