I am also having the same problem with the "enter angle" option no longer visible in my right click menu. Has any fix been released for this yet? It really is holding me back on this design. I also unchecked both snap options, but when I grab an axis to drag to rotate, its still snapping in 5 degree increments. I am needing like a 2-3 degree rotation. Is there some place to change this snap setting (Even though snaps are turned off)?

Hi

I've just added a tee to a pipe section, and I need to rotate it. The arrows appear as shown in the screenshot, but when I click one of them to rotate it 90 deg, nothing happens. The blue spinning circle appears for a few seconds indicating it's thinking about it, but then the tee just stays in the same position.

I've tried it in another section elsewhere on the run and, and tried with different fittings, and it behaves the same. Can't reorientate anything.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

Not sure why this is happening but have you tried the grip snap function to rotate the fitting?

and if so, does it allow rotation or snap back into position?

right click tee fitting > component> grip snap> 'rotate along axis'

@Anonymous

Is the tee placed inline in a single run, or is it between two separate runs? What method was used to place it? (insert, place, connect...) Did you use "Place" from the Ribbon? Or did you select an existing tee and use "Place Fitting" (my quick place tip)... or (please say no) did you copy and paste the fitting?

Hmm,... anything else? Sometimes, as @Mark.Lancaster mentioned, this can just happen for no reason. If you've been working in tube & pipe for a while sometimes things just get... "funky", and your best move is to save, close down Inventor and re-open. In any case recite my mantra "Save early - save often".

Thank you all for the replies. I opened up the model again to try your suggestions, and realised what the issue was.

Previously, when I've hovered the mouse over one of the rotation arrovs, the popup has been set to 90.00 deg by default as per the screenshot below.

On this PC (the first time I've tried to rotate a fitting using this PC) the default was 00.00 deg and I hadn't noticed! Stupid.

Thanks for the replies anyway, much appreciated.

This issue is still persisting. Update 2020.1 did not fix it. Done a pack-and-go to pull the files out of the Vault environment. The issue is still there?

Oddly, the issue is per Run... not per fitting. In a master assembly with 4 runs... all the fittings in 3 of the runs will work... but in a single run, none of the fittings will rotate. So the issue is inside the run.

This issue has popped up in multiple assemblies. Again, seems to be tied to individual runs in those assemblies. And it all started happening right after upgrading to 2020.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! This is greatly affecting profits as runs (and the corresponding drawings) have to be completely rebuilt. The time (money) spent is being eaten on these projects.

Never mind. Needed immediate solution so I nuked the pipe run that was stuck. Seems to have gotten corrupted, probably from IV2020 initial release. 😉

Still don't know what happened to the "Enter Angle" option on the rotation arrows, when placing a fitting. All I get now is select orientation, or manually rotating by gripping the arrows.... which is a major PITA.

Found a solution to this. Kind of random, but it works. Hover over the arrow on the axis is the direction you want to rotate. Once the arrow is highlighted, just start typing a numerical value. The enter angle box pops up with the number you typed in.
