Emboss error, text appears on surface below

I am having a problem with the Emboss feature in Inventor. I have modelled a hydraulic manifold and have labelled each port. For some reason two pieces of text are appearing on the surface directly below (see attached screenshot). Can any one explain why this is happening?

Short of completely rebuilding the part from scratch I have tried multiple things to get rid of the error but nothing works (e.g. deleting/re-adding the text/sketch/feature).

I'm happy to add any more information.

Post the model-- I'm sure someone can figure it out. And please let us know what version of Inventor you're using.

@johnsonshiue, this looks like one for you. If either of the RHFB or V3 labels are not included, the emboss feature behaves. If both of them are included, then it adds the unwanted and illogical second emboss. I didn't try every combination of labels, but there are a few others where it does the same thing.

Easiest workaround, I think, would be to do it in two emboss features instead of one (just share the sketch), but this workaround shouldn't be necessary.

Thanks for the suggestion! It's a shame it couldn't be cleanly solved.

I wasn't sure if having the 'deleted faces' feature at the bottom of the feature tree was causing the issue (that feature allowed me to check how the cross-drilling were interacting).

The Delete Face feature couldn't possibly have anything to do with it. It's both further down the tree and suppressed (because it's below the EOP), so if it influences the Emboss feature, there's something really wrong with Inventor!

That said, I wouldn't use a Delete Face feature for inspecting a part interior. Either a transparent appearance, or a Section View, or both (which can be stored as a View Representation). But only because I don't like the idea of a "destructive" inspection, not because it will cause any actual problems.

Hi Guys,

I cannot explain the behavior either. Something is definitely wrong. But, the interesting thing is that if I delete the Emboss_back and then recreate the exact same Emboss, it will work fine (see attached part). Could you take a look and see if it works for you?
