How to import vector logo to inventor

Hi,
I want to put a logo on my 3D object, if it is a image, I can get it into sketch and decal, I can do it like that, but when I remove the background of it, I tried to use mask, but I was not perfect,
So I want to know, how I can import a vector logo to inventor and then put it on my 3D object,

can you share an example with us? your attempt.

if it's vector indeed you can probably bring it in via dxf.

there's also decal but ... we need to see your exact case.

Your best bet is to edit the image you want to decal in inventor so that the background is more to your liking...

Better ask the software developer to improve the vectors import from other software ! Because Inventor import ALL VECTORS AS POINTS ; because of this you will get a totally mess !!!

If you try to repair the points with Sketch Doctor then you will lose about one week with the one silly window where you must tick yes thousands times, this stupid command can not be interrupted until repair all points.That in my opinion is the stupid thingh that I found in Inventor.

Perhaps that's why the 2 engineer laugh on their pic....

Hello @Anonymous it sounds like you can get the decal working but you want some sort of emboss/engrave of the logo as a 3D object?

There are many ways to do this, one I found to work quite well was to use ArtCam to trace the image to points and bring to Inventor.

ArtCam: Woodworking and 3D relief software

This might be too much or not what you're looking for but interesting and worth looking into.

Зачем предлагать ArtCam? Есть куча софта и без возможностей арт ArtCam, которые могут сделать 3D логотип на чпу, вопрос в том почему импорт вектора реализован так ущербно в Inventor? Ведь есть 3d max (Autodesk) который прошел эти этапы, и в нем это реализовано более хорошо чем в Inventor. Да и вообще кажется что Inventor просто игнорирует вектор, посмотрите сторонние продукты как они работают со сторонней векторной графикой, на порядок лучше,

а Inventor как будто в 90х годах с вектором остался. Какой смысл в моделировании если не возможно корректно создать логотип нарисованный другим дизайнером в другой программе на детали?

I know this is a super old thread, but I was able to add a DXF file which I exported out of Adobe Illustrator (AI).

After importing it in Inventor, I was pleasantly surprised to see the artwork was exactly as in AI, complete with paths. Paths were selectable, so I was able to extrude paths in the logo. Looks nice!
