topic Inventor Dynamics Simulation (Force Location) in Inventor Forum

As i going deeper in deeper in Inventor I now finally beginning to understand why many Solidworks user that previously use inventor says that Inventor is a 5 years old behind. As of today i'm doing a dynamic simulation and i found out that dynamics simulation does not make sense because i cannot select a face where i will put a force but instead i can only pick vertex, circular edge, arc edge, sketch point, sketch circle, sketch arc, line end point, work point. If i select the outside circular edge it will be offset at the center plane which create a moment which is not desired, unless inventor hiding a way to do it. (most of all its not a user Friendly)

If you can't figure it out and can't attend training - attach your assembly here and someone will demonstrate how to apply the force.

(BTW - it is exactly the same in SolidWorks if you are familiar with that program.)

Not Exactly the same with solidworks it's more like the opposite if solidworks do the job in left direction inventor will do the job in right direction, and i'm familiar with solidworks motion study in motion study you can select anything which will give you more control. here is a sample of my project i want a 1000N in the hole with the read mark and the direction will be normal to the XY Plane thanks

Can you post your SolidWorks example?

Do you want your force in associative direction (follows direction of part movement) or do you want it pointing always in one direction (down?)?

Thank you for your willingness to help, Actually i want them both.

I want to conduct a study to see how my parts behaves in these two condition

A) Force in associative direction (follows direction of part movement).

B) Force pointing always in one direction.

quote (sorry can't post a solidworks example because I no longer have an access to solidworks anymore).
