New system, no linkage to Content Center

Uh-oh.

The old motherboard augered in. The new system arrived from the IT department fully loaded and restored with Inventor 2015 but upgraded to Windows 10. Dandy!

All was working according to plan right up until I went to place new Content Center hardware. No CC folders, items, or icons. Not even a crumb too small for a mouse.

"Ah hah!", I cried. Dug into the Application Tools dialog and repointed the Files and Content Center tabs to the correct CC folder. All was well again.

Then the system got The Twitch™ over the weekend and entered a reboot loop. A system restore back to the previous Friday cured that problem, but now I can't get to the CC parts at all, no matter how many times I repoint to the correct folder. In Windows Explorer the CC folders & files are all still intact and located exactly where they always have been but in Inventor, when closing out the Application Tools dialog, I get notified that there are no CC files located where I've pointed.

"Old" projects point to the same folder and have all their CC parts load correctly, but I cannot change them. I can open the CC parts from within their respective assemblies and the iProperties reports the (same old) correct location.

HAAAALP!!

Well... Pretty much. I can't migrate them because they're still the same release. Can't transfer because we don't use Vault. Update is greyed out.

There's 2 parts for management content center.

Tools/Applications Options/Content Center. This tells you where the library files (,idcl) are located. You have it pointing to the location where the CC components are going when they are placed into an assembly.

Tools/Application Options/File tab. This is the location where the CC components are stored when they are placed into an assembly. Please do not include the EN-US folder or you will create a structure EN-US/EN-US.

You can also over-ride the location of the place CC components using the folder option of your active project file.

I've pushed the File tab CC location to the parent directory. (Yep, had the "en-us/en-us" structure you mentioned. That's now tidied up and deleted.)

Where should the Content Center tab IDCL location point to? Neither current nor parent seem to dodge the "no content" warning.

By default, your CC library files (.idcl) are located here: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Inventor <version>\Content Center\Libraries\

So using Windows Explorer I would check to see if they are there.

If not you will need to install them

Apparently, someone in IT decided to make "ProgramData" a hidden folder. Nice.
