Open a file periodically in Inventor

Hi All,

I'm trying to find a way to launch an Inventor file periodically: say once per hour. I have used the Inventor task scheduler to achieve this once per day, but that's the shortest period it seems to offer? Does anyone have any light they may be able to shed on this? I'm sure there is a route I can take with VBA or something, but I have a lot of short comings in that environment..

I don't understand this requirement. Opening a file once every hour.. What? What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to make it look like someone is working when they are not..

I wish that was the case for this exercise, but alas, I only get paid when I complete my work 😕

I've essentially developed a macro driven model for a company, where the model configures and generates all drawing docs automatically, based on an assembly number input. The input comes from their ERP system, which is spitting out a CSV file periodically, containing these assembly numbers (and other info) . I can pick this file up once per day, and generate all of their documents, however, once per day is not enough as it's not reactive enough to their customer needs etc. It's important that this system remains automated, as human input is not desired, hence the requirement for a shorter period.

And this is where I am at now.. searching for a elegant solution to this. Whether it exists or not is another thing, or whether I need to spend some time learning more in the VBA environment etc.. I thought I'd pass it to the power of the internet before spending a few days loosing hair and turning completely grey!

Any help/direction will be greatly appreciated.

So in task scheduler create a task that starts at a given time and repeats daily.

Create a task that starts an hour later and repeats daily.

Create a task that starts an 2 hours later and repeats daily.

You get the picture..
