Can I ask if I can support the osnap feature in the inventor after sketching?

Hi! I think I sort of understand what you are going after. OSNAP in AutoCAD is a powerful selection tool. You can pretty much snap to any OSNAP supported geometry any time in Model or Layout. Besides the two spaces, there isn't the concept of context.

Inventor works differently. Most of the geometry is associative. It means you build something on top of something. Outside of Sketch environment, there are snapping behaviors but it depends on what you want to do. Selection filter helps you select the desirable object for certain operations. It sounds like you have trouble finding the correct selection filter or type. Could you share an example showing the difficulty?

Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

To add to what @JDMather and @johnsonshiue have said, I too moved from AutoCAD to Inventor and the environment is similar but very different.

The main thing you will have to wrap your head around is that you are drawing a Sketch that will turn into 3d objects, not lines. The concept of osnap is going to become fairly useless once you get the hang of it.

I created a short screencast to show you why.

When drawing a Sketch you want to be sure that it is Fully Constrained so that it is locked in and has No Degrees of Freedom.

What tutorials are you following to start learning?
