      <title>Frame analysis - theory of stress calculation</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Good morning everyone,&lt;BR /&gt;Recently I was wondering how the Frame Analysis Module calculates the maximum/minimum normal stresses (Smax/Smin) for a given beam in the analyzed frame.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;According to my knowledge, the value of normal stresses should depend on bending and tension, i.e.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Smax=sqrt(Smax(Mx)^2+Smax(My)^2)+Saxial,&lt;BR /&gt;Smin=sqrt(Smin(Mx)^2+Smin(My)^2)-Saxial&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Unfortunately, based on these formulas, it does not receive the Smax or Smin values given by Inventor.
