Can someone tell me if integrated graphics can run inventor. Specifically intel UHD graphics 620. Or do I need to look into discrete graphics cards. Only using this at school with fairly simple assemblies.

Cheers

Hi! It is hard to tell if a given integrated graphics card would work. It would not be performant for sure. It should work for simple cases I guess. The "simple" means the number of components are less and the geometry is not complicated. Try setting Tools -> Application Options -> Hardware to Conservative mode and see if it works.. If it does not work well, you will probably need dedicated graphics card.

Many thanks!

I ran Inventor for many years on my home laptop with integrated graphics - for the purposes of fiddling around with part models and ilogic in my free time.

I couldn't have used my home laptop for production work - it simply wasn't powerful enough.

As Jonson says - will it work, is not the same as will it work well!

Try it and see...

So I may need to look into discrete graphics so can anyone shed some light on which graphics cards would be acceptable (looking at GeForce gtx 1050) and how much vram would be required

yes a 1050 would be good ...

I have a 1= 1060, 2= 1070's, 1 Surface Pro 4 and a laptop with a GTX960M ...they all work.

I don't do complex models with the surface, but the rest I do.
