Our welding symbol style has gone wonky. The 'x' which was a '-' has moved to beside the weld type symbol. If I open an older drawing that was correct as soon as you change something the symbol changes to the error state and will not revert. It is suddenly affecting all our users.

check style settings with drawings that are correct and all setting are the same?

The symbol works OK for me (Inv2024) & appears as in your red annotation. It must be some problem in your set-up, do you have more than 1 CAD seat, does it affect them all?

Hi Nigel

Yes we have 20 seats and it is happening to all of them, seems to have been since a recent update. Our template hasn't been updated for about a year and until just this week it was working fine. Even when I open an old drawing that shows the symbols fine if I add another it goes bad. There seems no way to edit these weld symbols, they are just how Autodesk has made them and that is that. With all the style settings for weld symbol you would have expected there to be a way to change the layout but not from what I can see.

I can understand the symbols not being editable as they will be based on ASME/ISO standards. Let's hope that johnsonshiue can find some corruption in your files.

Hi! Many thanks for sharing the file! I took a quick look at the custom Weld symbol style. There isn't anything apparently wrong in terms of the actual settings. It seems strange to me that an ANSI-based style does not contain the dashed line. My limited testing shows only non-ANSI standards like DIN, ISO, or BSI do not contain the dashed line.

Does this behavior just start? How was the style created? Has it been migrated?

Thanks again!

Back in the day Inventor use to come with all the standards, so we just migrate every couple of years to the new version of Inventor. The ANSI weld symbol has been fine for the last 10 years and only recently it went bad. ANSI is what we use in Australia so I need to working again. How do I raise this with AUTODESK I could see a way to contact them for this type of issue?
