I need help with multi-curved obtjects, such as a bonnet/ tailgate

I've been using Inventor now for a while and I get my way around in it. For my hobby and work, I don't have very complex shapes and basically everything can be done using the normal sketch and extrude methods.

However, for my hobby, I want to design a new tailgate for my 1:8 Porsche 911. And there I run struck, I do not posses the capability to get it. I tried loft, I tried using freeforms, but I just don't seem to get there.

This is an example of what I am trying to do:

It is probably not even difficult, but I am clueless in what to do and how to get there, I have been reading through internet, bought a expensive Inventor book and I spent now a full evening and day trying to get it to work in Inventor, I am at the point of throwing the PC out of the window :-).

But before I do so, is there someone who can point me in the right direction? Preferably a somewhat step by step?

Hi! Actually, I would not use Freeform or Loft in this case. If you remove the rounds, the spoiler has well-defined geometry like plane and cylinder. Please attach the file what you have here so forum experts can comment further.

Hello Everybody,

I am sorry that I am responding late, but I have been struck with the flu and had no interest of getting out of bed, there was no energy left. Tonight is the first time I get back on the computer and start trying to draw this soon again.

I see some great ideas and will look at them closer somewhere this week, I mean; It can't be impossible right? I will also keep this thread updated with my progress for future use!

For the record; I am not a noob with Inventor. I use it daily at work, but since the company I work for only uses machinable parts, there is no practice for me in it with fluent forms, it is an area I am just not familiar with (yet).

That is serious skilled, very nice!

I worked a bit on the front bumper, basically to regain confidence again and that is succesful, soon I'll pick up the engine cover again, probably this weekend.
