If anybody cares

I deleted the threaded hole feature and replaced it with a revolved hole and Thread feature. And now it works!

So the question is. Does a threaded hole feature not work in Content Center?

Published Content Center part doesn't work

Hi

I'm no pro at publishing parts to the Content Center so I need your expertise.

Attached is a hose fitting that I have been using as an ipart for a long time and am wanting to publish it to the content center.

I author it with tube and pipe. This works

I publish the part. This is successful.

But when I bring it in with content center I get this message

"Unable to successfully update the member part file. Problem occurred when setting Thread date."

I does place the part but the hole with thread isn't the correct size. The different sizes come in with the same threaded hole size. And if I place a fitting that has been placed before I dont get the message but the threaded hole is still the wrong size.

I have other fitting that does work.

The only difference I can see is, the one that works has a "Thread feature". And the one that doesn't work has a "threaded Hole feature".

Is a Threaded hole not allowed in content center? Or what is the problem.

Thanks in advance

And another question

What do I have to do so I can find that fitting in tube and pipe style if I want to make a new hose style?

@Retselnitram

Hi, sorry I didn't see this sooner.

For your first question, I guess I really don't know. I've never tried publishing with a threaded hole feature. That would be a great question for someone like @johnsonshiue. (only two!)

For your second question, first make sure that the units you used on your published part exactly match the units on the hose you are using to create the T&P style. For example, if the hose is 2" (inch marks included) and the fitting is either 2, or 2 in.... the fitting may not show up as a valid selection when creating the style. If this is not the problem,... we can try to look at some other things.

If you want to make sure to get me in on this thread again later, make sure to use the @cbenner and I'll be notified when you've posted something.

Good luck.

Hi Lester,

I tried publishing the attached part to CC. It seemed to work for me. It is possible, I did not select the same set of columns so I was seeing a different behavior. Publishing seems to work. Could you record a Screencast to show the exact steps leading to the failure?

Hi Chris,

I only had three

Hi

Attached is the screen cast.

As you can see there is no problem publishing the part.

Its placing it into an assembly after it has been published.

And once it has been placed once the message doesn't appear again.

I didn't show this on the screen cast but the threaded hole isn't correct. It stays the same size no matter which size is inserted.

Many thanks for the screencast! I am sorry that I misunderstood the issue. I thought the failure was with publishing. The issue here is about placing. Indeed, something is wrong here. It does not make sense. I cannot explain the behavior. I will work with the project team to understand it better.

Thanks again!

Thanks for your information.

I can reproduce this issue with the ipart which you have provided in this forum.

But, the issue is due to ipart has lost the reference of Hole feature somehow. Please fix the Hole feature, then republish ipart. Now, it should work without error dialog.

Please let me know if you have any comments about this. Thanks a lot.

So I know in the future, how did you go about to fix the hole feature? Were you able to do a rebuild, or did you have to delete and make a new hole feature?
