EXPORT TO 242 STP FILE ISSUE

INVENTOR 2018 BUILD 112.

Export STP 214 protocol:

When my 2 body solid model is complete and I want to send body (1) to a sub-contractor for manufacture and don't want him to see body (2) I can hide body (2) when exporting and it will only export body (1)

Export STP 242 protocol:

whether or not any bodies are hidden, both bodies will exist in the new STP file.

I have looked all over the settings and can't find why this is happening.

try to suppress the body and then export the stp. file.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for bringing up this issue.

In Inventor 2018, the STEP 214 will exclude the invisible body and 242 will include the invisible body as invisible after export Inventor file as STEP and then import back to Inventor. We have noticed the difference between STEP 242 and 214, and will make the behavior consistent as keeping the invisible body as invisible in translation. If you want to exclude the invisible body, please suppress it before export.
