Hi Chetan,

I have located the crash reports you sent. It seems to be related to NASTRAN In-CAD. I will work with the team to understand the issue better. It looks like you are on Inventor 2015. Is there any chance you can upgrade to 2018?

When you mentioned that you contacted Autodesk regarding these crashes before, who did you talk to? Did you get a case reported? Please feel free to contact me directly (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com).

Many thanks!

Spit From Reference Post: A software problem has caused autodesk inventor to close

Hi,

I'm Chethan, graduate student using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2015, Autodesk Nastran-In-Cad software for my analysis.

I'm working on analysis of steel panel using shell element.

During the analysis run I recieved the following error

WARNING E5074: NO CONVERGENCE IN MAXIMUM NUMBER OF ITERATIONS PERMITTED

WARNING E5075: BISECTING CURRENT LOAD INCREMENT

In the end there was window popped up, saying Serious error message

the application has used the maximum allowable disk space(1537MB) devoted to undoing transactions.

Unless the maximum size limit is increased, the current transaction will not be undoable!!

Would you like to increase the maximum size of the undo file?

For that message I chose an option saying yes, however the iterations kept on running for 5 hours and finally the program closed ubruptly.

I have attached the file along with the pictures which shows the warning messages I have recieved.

Please let me know how to fix this problem so that I can see / get the end results.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Thanking you,

Sincerely,

Chethan

PM: I have sent email to autodesk multiple times however never got back from them.

@Anonymous

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

This is an Inventor crash report. There's noting on that dialog that we can go by or know what the issue is. These reports go to Autodesk for evaluations. You're also are out of date for Inventor. You only have Inventor 2015 SP1 installed.. There's SP2/Update 6. I would recommend that you uninstall Inventor 2015 service pack 1 and then install

SP2: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-inventor-2015-service-pack-2.html?v=2015

Update #6: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/downloads/caas/downloads/content/update-6-for-inventor-2015-service-pack-2.html?v=2015

Although its not normal to uninstall a service pack before install another one, but its recommended for Inventor 2015 SP1 to Inventor 2015 SP2.

From there run your study again and see if it crashes.

Hi Johnson,

I tried doing my analysis in Nastran In-Cad 2018, after updating both my Inventor & Nastran In-CAD versions.

However after starting my analysis it's terminating due to Fatal errors.

It's displaying Fatal error E5073 : NON-ZERO LOAD VECTOR REQUIRED FOR NONLINEAR ANALYSIS.

I looked up online in Nastran In-CAD forum, the suggestion they have mentioned also didn't work.

Any suggestions and help to fix this issue will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Chethan,

I took a quick look at the part you attached. The geometry is not complicated but I see some issues. The Sketch2 is under-constrained. You have arcs near tangent to each other. This can create modeling challenge and simulation challenge. Please constrain the sketch fully with parameters and constraints.

Many thanks!

Hi Johnson,

Thanks for getting back! As you mentioned I did correct my model by constraining my sketch with parameters and constraints, however I still can't complete my analysis.

I'm applying the enforced motion in the load type. In forum they have suggested the load direction should be similar to constraints direction.

I checked my load conditions it is correct as per the forum suggestion.

I highly appreciate for getting back. Can you please suggest any alternate analysis software which is compatible with Inventor.

Regards,

Chethan

Hi Chetan,

Your case is being investigated by NASTRAN In-CAD team. Have you tried using Inventor Stress Analysis? Do you have to use non-linear compute?

Many thanks!
