Can you explain a bit about your design intent?

Why are you using 3D sketch?

Can't the geometry be created with a 2D sketch, Extrude and a couple of Revolves?

If there is a logical reason for 3D sketch - why all of the tiny line segments?

The goal of modeling is to make a electrode.

It has complex structure such as different transverse curvature and center position along the z-axis.

Because of spline error for large segment in the rounding section, I separate as small segment ans use line option to call data point.

I attached previous example which was successful model.

thank you

Hello,

I have been having a little mess around with your model.

I agree with @JDMather.

2D sketch with Extrude and Revolve would be much easier.

It will take a lot more to get the 3D sketch to loft.

It will be quicker to do a 2D sketch Extrude and Revolve as well.

It is similar to series of circles which have different radius and center along the z-axis.

I have just don't a quick model for you.

Is that what you wanted your 3D sketch to look like after the loft?

Sorry for rude and thank you for your help, Thomas.

That's right. It's similar to what I want.

I upload previous work which I did. It has been built well.

I wonder sometimes it works well, but loft option always work well.

I know to why it happen in inventor.

Hi! I think Thomas provided a very good example. Frankly, I don't quite understand the electric nodes need to be modeled in such complicated 3D sketches. It is making things harder. To have a successful Loft, you want to manage profile topology efficiently and effectively. Think of Loft as a mapping technology. The loft surface goes from one section to the next When there is one vertex on one section, it will have to be mapped to another in the next section. The more vertices you have, the more complicated loft surface becomes. A straight line only needs two points. You don't need small segments in between. You have to ask yourself, does each segment or each vertex carry the necessary design intent? If not, there is opportunity to simplify. I see a lot of room for simplification in this case.

Many thanks!
