Hi! This is an interesting request. Indeed, the behavior is a little bit inconsistent and I cannot think of a clear technical reason why it has to be this way. Let me work with the project team and see if it can be done.

Many thanks!

Is it possible to keep the subassembly sectioned while entering its environment?

As shown in the gif, if I enter a subassembly while it is sectioned in the master assembly, this will "lose" sectioning. This is a slight annoyance and I'd like to avoid it.

Is there a way to keep the master assembly sectioning while entering a subassembly?

Thanks!

@francesco.dinh

For the future instead of making animated gifs that doesn't show Inventor functions, create a Autodesk Screencast showing your workflow.

So I assume you created an assembly section view and then you are going to edit in place an assembly, is that correct? Also always indicate what Inventor version you are using.

You're right. I'm not using inventor in english, I don't specifically know all the terminology.

Yeah, that happens after I double-click on a subassembly to edit it in place. It's strange because If I set a section view in the subassembly, it is kept once I exit the subassembly to return to the main one. But not the other way around.
