Hi! Inventor Stress Analysis can handle linear stress analysis. This means the displacement of the assembly or part is linear to the applied load. Stiffness is constant in the solve range. This usually means the material is isotopic and there is not directional variation. Linear stress analysis can be done relatively fast and it can be used as an analysis before running non-linear stress analysis.

For non-linear analysis, you will need to install Autodesk NASTRAN In-CAD (run on top of Inventor Professional). It is included in Product Design and Manufacturing Collection.

Many thanks!

No sir I cant attach my assembly. We currenty sent our assemby from inventor to Engineers to do calculations in Auto cad. If the structure fails we have to redesign.Want to see if we could do a precalculation before we send it off to the Engineers. Thank you for your help.

Hello d_gates,

If you are using a multiple bodies part for the analysis then it cannot define a different material to them and you need to change the part to assembly with "Make Components" from Manage tab.

Then, add different material to each component.

Thanks.
