Hi,

You will do yourself a favor if the next time you create a face with the oblique side first. And then - build the flanges off it. Rather then using Cut on the second flange. Here is an example in IV2018 format.

Cheers,

Hey guys, I've had an issue like this before but there are a bit more variables in this particular part. Basically what I'm trying to do is this: I've got the face of my panel, then there is a flange that comes off at a 78.11 degree angle. One side of that flange is cut at a 44.33 degree angle, and from that cut, there is another flange. On the face of the panel on the same side as the cut on the other flange, I've got a 135 degree flange. What I need to do is put a corner seam between the two flanges with the flush faces. Whenever I click on one edge it selects, but it will not let me select the second. I've had this issue before when not having the faces perfectly flushed up, but I am just unsure of how to flush these up perfectly. As far as I can tell they are flush. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've included the part for anyone to take a look at. The flanges I'm trying to seam up are named as such in the model tree.

Thanks guys.

Here is my try at it. The trick is to make sure both flanges truly are on the same plane. Doing the math yourself and entering angles generally won't work unless you figure to the umpteenth decimal place.

I'm hopeless over here! When I try to open your file, I'm getting "Error in Reading RSe Stream" Whats up with that? I'm using Inventor 2014. From the preview, I can see that it looks like you've put a plane on the 135 degree leg, I am assuming you sketched the adjacent flange from that plane? That seems like a step in the right direction, I'm just not sure how you connected everything. Would you mind going into a bit of detail since I can't open the file?

Thanks so much!

Yeah, I'm using a newer version. Sorry.

But yes, I started by placing a work plane, then building everything from that. Even the cut on the big flange uses it. The two small flanges are faces sketched on the plane. Hold the ends back from the inside corner an inch or more so they don't overlap each other, then use corner seam to clean it up.

Hope this helps.
