Inventor Assembly Constraints On Wheel Gear Ratchet Pinion

I've made a exercise and want to complete it with a working assembly.

If I turn the wheel I want the gear to turn but can't find a sollution how to do this.

See for the drawings and a little film the attachments.

Can someone here give me a solution how I can make it work?.

I believe contact solver can help you out, for more detail, you can refer to -

Make sure, you have set the component as contact set before simulate the contact solver.

An assembly must include parts. ( *.ipt files)

Thanks for attempting to attach the assembly, but all parts need to be included. Can you try using Pack & Go as .zip to share your parts?

Are you trying to do Dynamic Simulation, visual representation for Fitment, or rendering within Inventor Studio?

Couldn't find an explicit ratchet video demonstration, so if you can attach your parts and describe what you're wanting to accomplish that would be helpful for forum experts.

I've tried with DS (2018 files)

But I don't think it would be working well in real life, either.

@gert-jan.van-dam thanks for the good setup @WHolzwarth. I simplified it further by turning off the chamfer on the side of the gear tooth, seemed to help simplify the selection, but don't think that's an issue.

No matter how I set it up the 2D Contact seems to get stuck in the bottom.

I can get it to push around making each part a Contact Set and then using Transitional Constraint but is seems to lock up leading me to believe the design might be slightly off.

Haven't used this setup very often so might be missing something. Possibly loosen the tolerances and see if that works better.

Do you intend for the pawl to only swing by gravity - or can a Spring Force be added?

The ratchet is not doing any work - so at a minimum Friction will need to be introduced into the Revolution Joint.

I've tryed to set gravity in the ratchet, but don't think it worked (sorry beginner ), perhaps I can add a spring to make it work.
