Hole Pattern Perpendicular to Lofted Flange

I am struggling to come up with an elegant and efficient method for creating slotted holes perpendicular to a lofted flange in an irregular pattern layout.

I created a surface, and used workplanes to split it creating the nodes where I would like the center of my slots to lie.

I then used those nodes and the surface itself to create axes that are normal to the surface. This is the orientation I would like to cut my slots.

I thought I could use the axis and workpoint to define an iFeature, but it appears an axis isn't a viable input. Why is that?

So it looks like I will need to create 320 workplanes to compliment the axis in order to make iFeatures work.

Is there a better way to achieve this?

Is there a quick way to place multiple iFeatures once the inputs have been defined?

best way is to not. provided flat pattern with point data and standard hole detail. Why bother placing the detail!

BUT i am down for kerplunk

I need it to match another part that mates up to in in order to confirm the holes line up prior to cutting. Plus it looks better in the detail views if the fasteners don't appear to be interfering with the material.

I'm So close!

I can get a 3D sketch pattern to *almost* do what I need. I just need to keep the slot profile horizontal.

Is there a way to control the rotational alignment of a feature when using a 3D sketch driven pattern with a reference face?

I'd like to keep the slot horizontal while maintaining perpendicularity to the face.

This is related to a workflow described here.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/hole-pattern-perpendicular-to-lofted-flange/m-p/7869052#M687379
