Moved from older post: Dynamic Simulation is slow...Does it ever only use a single processor?

Hi I'm new to this website!

Anyways if I have to use 2D Contact Joint whenever possible... well... I tried that and it didn't work at all... so I had to use the 3D Contact Joint but its so SLOW D;

Is there anyway I can fix this? I'm also gonna try and attach my assembly if i figure out how to...

and I'm a student in a Tulsa Tech program and our assignment is to make an Automata that is appealing to 5-6 year olds.

i'll leave the followers detached (they have keys connected to them) so you can mess with it a bit. please help me );

Oh and Also the AutoDesk Inventor im using is the year 2017... AutoDesk Inventor 2017

It will be very easy to use 2D Contact Joints with this design, but before we proceed to the solution - has your instructor emphasized the importance of fully defining your sketches?

I fixed it but only 1 key isn't working and also the lag is gone... all the keys move... I used Sliding Joints: Cylinder Curve

the cam being the Curve and the follower being the Cylinder AND IT WORKED 😄

and yes she did discuss the importance of defining sketches... I got an A on that test... it was easy.... (HS) it was the first thing we learned 🙂

also when making the sketch to create a part... I don't think it matters where the sketch is... as long as the part is able to be made I'm fine

wait there all wrong ); aw man

oh ya.. i forgot to mention (this is a partner assignment! i didn't make the piano) i had to change some parts cause the cams were going to be 3D printed but not the axle's... so i changed the Axle and Cams a bit but here's a video of them working (except for 1)

and it would be nice to learn better techniques 😄

Sorry about that, my real work got into the way of getting back here to help.

The first thing I am going to do is use the logic of fully constraining all of your sketches with symmetry about the Origin Center Point as this will help in properly building the assembly (where there are some serious issues).
