What does gravity do?

Hi,
I want to know what gravity does? If I select mild steel for my model does gravity calculate it's own weight?

Gravity, it keeps us all from floating into space! You did not mention what environment you are asking about. I can only assume you are referring to the stress analysis or simulation environment since gravity settings do not appear in part or assembly environment. In these environments it adds the effects of gravity on your analysis. The density of materials determine the weight of an object in the part and assembly.

You need to define your question a little more.
