topic Simplified Assembly Workflow in Inventor Forum

I need help in my simplification workflow.

I have a large assembly I'm working in made up of many sub-assemblies. I've made simplified substitutes of each subassembly that I'm using in that main assembly and has helped a lot. I have drawings of the large assembly that I don't want to be in the simplified state. Is there an easy way I can lock the drawings in the detailed state and still have the model in the simplified state?

Hi, in this case you would need a model state where the simplified subs are shown and a model state where everything is detailed.
Then just place the detailed model state in the drawings and not the simplified one.

Hi! As James mentioned here, Model States should be the answer. How did you create the simplified assemblies? Please feel free to share an example here. The forum experts can help take a further look.

Many thanks!
