Exporting Robot Model to BXD:Synthesis

Hello,

I am a FRC Team Mentor assessing the usefulness of the BXD:Synthesis simulation software to train our drivers while a competition robot is in the design phase. I am encountering two problems while attempting to export a robot model from Inventor 2018 to BXD:Synthesis.

After importing our robot CAD model developed using CATIA V5, I managed to joint the robot's 4 wheels and the joints showed up in the model browser, as shown in the screen capture below. When I try to export the Robot to BXD:Synthesis, however, the joint nodes do not appear in the Guided Export pane in which we are expected to associate the nodes to their Synthesis equivalent;
When I attempt to do an export with either the One-click or the Advanced export functions, I end-up with only one assembly of the entire robot (which consists of 6 assemblies in the CATIA and imported Inventor models).

I have made attempts to import a variety of robots created in Inventor, Fusion 360, CATIA or published in STEP format and I keep getting the same results.

Is there a specific model Assemblies structure which the Inventor Robot Exporter and BXD:Synthesis need in order to work properly?

Do joints/nodes for the wheel have to appear at the higher-level assembly to be picked up by the Robot Exporter?

Also, I tried to find a Tutorial on the preparation of a robot CAD model, beyond the jointing process, for export and use in BXD:Synthesis, to no avail.

Hello,

It sounds like a problem for Robot exporter rather than general exporting. The Robot exporter addin should know Joints as well as components via Inventor API.
