Cannot Paste AutoCAD 2018 Sketch Into Inventor 2017 - No Clipboard Options

Hi, Im using Acad 2018 and Inventor 2017 on Windows 10.

Im trying to copy a very simple sketch. I can copy to clipboard in Acad but when i go to inventor i cannot ctrl + v in to a sketch. I have no clipboard options on the right click in inventor. A colleague has tried the same thing and is able to do it.

I have tried the reset utility, running as admin and repairing the programme via install menu.

How can i get the clipboard to work in inventor?

I have just tried copying and pasting from an inventor part to another and that works. Also gives me the clipboard on the right click.

Still cant copy from Acad in to Inventor...

Hi,

I can copy and paste with other applications in windows - i just cannot paste IN TO Inventor.

I can copy and paste sketches from another part in Inventor. Just cant copy something from say, Autocad, Excel etc and paste in to Inventor. There is no options or ctrl + v doesnt work.

All programmes and windows are up to date.

Your colleague, is he/she have the same configuration Autocad to Inventor as you do? Autocad 2018 into Inventor 2017?

So, if you copy an Autocad sketch in model space, and open up an Inventor sketch, the ctrl "C" and ctrl "V" doesn't work.

Restarted your PC or Inventor recently?

Autocad 2018 has a new DWG format and older versions of Inventor (2017) cannot read it..

You will need to use autocad 2017 or upgrade your version of Inventor to 2018

Brian is right. It is because AutoCAD 2018 has a newer dwg format that Inventor 2017 cannot handle.
