Inventor ADAPPMGRSVC.EXE Runs Continuously With High I/O Data

Hi ,

can someone explain why adappmgrsvc.exe need to run continuously with I/O data significantly higher than any other program running. When my computer starts running slow I always look to see what may be causing it.

The I/O of this Autodesk program is 15 times more than any other process, surely this is unnecessary.

This is the Autodesk Desktop Application and it does not need to run all the time. I removed this application from my startup list and only run it from the program menu when I use it services. Speeds up my system a lot.

As suggested, I disabled the Autodesk Desktop App in the Startup list BUT after a reboot, the AdAppMgrScv (the Desktop App process) still runs, albeit with low CPU usage. Nevertheless, as soon as I start an Autodesk application (in my case, Inventor) the CPU utilization of AdAppMgeSvc jumps to 50% of my system's total capacity then tapers off to 25% (still a high utilization).

Note: The Autodesk Desktop App is not running in my system tray but the AdAppMgrSvc is still a process taking CPU. When I kill the process (right-click, End Process in the Windows Task Manager), all is good temporarily but shortly the process restarts and hogs CPU again.

Only by stopping the AdAppMgrSvc service (again using Windows Task Manager) was I able to permanently stop Autodesk Desktop App and AdAppMgrSvc from dominating my CPU usage.

For a more permanant fix, I used msconfig to stop the Autodesk Desktop App from running on reboot in BOTH the Services and the Startup tabs.
