&lt;P&gt;At this point you need to make a new part since you don't want the others to update.&amp;nbsp; To do this..&amp;nbsp; Under the Assembly Productivity selecting on the ribbon, select the down arrow and select Save and Replace&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;This will create an exact part with a new name and still leaves all constraints in place.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Open that new part and modify as needed.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Assembly Modification Help</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I need to make a modification to one part in an inventor assembly...but I have multiple instances of the same part# in the assembly...I am wondering how i can make an extrude on only one of the parts without all of the other instances updating with the cut as well.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;One way is copy that part and give it a new name.&amp;nbsp; Replace instance in assembly with it.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Another, cut the hole as weldment in assembly.&amp;nbsp; Do it this way only if it is assembled than machine the hole.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
