Inventor Can't Place VEX Cortex Into Assembly Unresolved Sub Cyclic Dependencies

I am making a design of my VEX robot, but when I place the Cortex into my assembly it gives me this error message:

"The selected assembly contains one or more unresolved subassemblies. Due to the possibility of cyclic dependencies the requested operation is not supported."

How do I fix this?

You need to open the assembly and resolve it first.

Make sure your project is correct.

I forgot to add that these are the unresolved components in my VEX cortex. So how do I resolve the issue?

You are missing those files or you put them somewhere else that Inventor is unable to locate them.. Are you sure you have all the related files for this assembly?

I downloaded the VEX parts again from the website, and even made a new folder to put it in, but still didn't fix it. So why don't I have that component?

I order to resolve this, before you open the file, click on the "Open with Options" under settings on your Home Screen. Un-check the "Skip all unresolved files".

Now when you open it, it will give you an opportunity to locate the file. It should located under the scope of your .ipj.

I have no clue about this school project or what is offered or what's in that folder. You have to remember this is mainly a forum where commercial projects are being made and most of us don't have insight to what school projects or files are out there. Don't you have an instructor or mentor regarding this?

Perhaps this file does it. I've seen it in VEX Robotics - Metric/Logic/Components folder

This is not a school project. I just want to build my robot in Inventor. The parts I get are from the Autodesk website from this link, https://www.autodesk.com/education/competitions-and-events/vex/recommended-software#Kit-of-parts. Under Download the VEX Kit of Parts section, Inventor_2013_VEX_KOP_-_Imperial.zip.

Try put the folder with all the files into your Project Workspace folder.
