Hidden 15 MB in some parts

Hello,

at some point while creating a part there are 15 MB added for no reason.

Even when I delete everthing to an empty file, the 15 MB remain.

Attached there is such a file, which is empty but has these 15MB file size.

Is this common?

Was this ever an imported part at some point?

Yes and no, in this exsample there was a small part imported.

But I had this effect in files with no import, too.

Actually if this was the reason, this would be no problem, as long

deleting the part would repair the file.

Try purge all styles in the file.

Purge styles has unfortunately no effect.

I hear ya, but a lot of it depends on how the part was created.

Truthfully, I did not open your part, so I have no idea what it looks like. I would render to guess, that if you were to recreate it those 15 mb would go away. Files are funny sometimes.

Hi Ralf,

This is a corrupted file. There is about 15MB worth of Brep data (geometry) stored in the file, which does not show in the graphics. Do you know how to reproduce the behavior?

This would mean there is some data in the back ground such as geometry,said earlier, file formatting data, and custom settings you use as they would use data, if you don't need the file just delete it.

No, I can't reproduce.

It happen just on some parts. Even after doing some easy actions like extruding a rectangle or something like this.

Yes, I could delete it. I don't need this example file. But I need to now how to delete this data, because it will happen again to another part and everytime it's lot of work to redo those parts.
