Hi i am a newbie with inventor sheetmetal and I have created a box with a lid.

However when i try to create the flat pack for production it only shows me the box and not the lid.

How to export a flat pack for both parts?

Thanks

A single part file can only have one flat pattern.

However, if you have a single sheet metal part with multiple bodies, then you can use the multi-body workflow to create a separate derived part for both the top and bottom.

Manage>Make Components (if you want to create an assembly with both parts) or Manage>Make Part (if you just want to create separate parts).

OK - the quick version is:

You've created both pieces as one body, so you don't really have a 'multi-body' part.

When you create the first face, then add flanges to it, you've created a single body.

When you create the second face, you need to check 'New Body' instead of joining it to the first one.

Then you'll have TWO bodies.

Once you fix this, you'll need to fix your last two holes, as they're trying to drill through the first body.

I can post a screencast in a little bit, but this might get you going faster.

Sorry - no headset = no sound

A quick walkthrough.... fixing the part is one half, creating the derived part is the second half
