I can't feasibly share the work flow because it's just my entire work flow. Inventor just slows down as I use it no matter what I am doing until it maxes out my RAM and freezes. The steps to reproduce are "use Inventor for anything for 2 hours".

I can share some aspects of my work flow, but there is nothing unusual being done or any add-ons being used.

Vault is in use

Editing in context frequently

Sometimes using simplified parts

Sometimes using flexible sub-assemblies

No simulations are used

Hi! A few things to check.

1) Go to File Explorer -> %temp% -> clean up as many files as possible.

2) Make sure all critical Windows updates are installed and the graphics driver is updated.

3) Go to Tools -> App Options -> Assembly -> uncheck "Enable Express mode."

4) Make sure there is "C:\Temp." Open the assembly and press Ctrl+F7. Scroll the dialog to the bottom. Is there any bad body reported? If yes, run Repair workflow on those bad bodies.

Many thanks!

The memory usage will disappear when the entire application closes, but individual tabs have no effect. Inventor is leaking into memory so only Windows can wipe it when the process ends.

Hi! I suspect this is probably hardware resource related. It looks like you have 16GB RAM. That is the minimum to run Inventor. It does not seem that you have a lot of graphics RAM either.

We have some iLogic rules, but none of them run without a user starting them manually. Inventory worked fine (fine by Inventor standards) until this update when it suddenly started eating memory. The other engineers have been spared because I warned them not to install the latest update until Autodesk rolls out a fix.

It's going to be a hard sell to the customer base and my boss if a patch upped the memory requirements beyond 16 GB with no additional features. However, it will be an even harder sell to dump our subscription so I might be able to to get our PCs upgraded. Before I do that, I have to know that Autodesk is committed to upping the memory requirements beyond 16 GB.
