Hi! There should be a logical reason to explain the behavior. I guess your display precision is set to no decimal point. Go to Tools -> Document Setting -> Units -> Linear Dim Display Precision. I bet you set it to no decimal point.

The nominal value column shows the actual value stored in the file. If you want 50.00mm, you should type in 50 exact.

Many thanks!

Hello,

I have made a circle and tried to offset this circle with 50 mm. Problem occurs because the shown dimension isn't 50 as I typed but 49 with some parts.

I don't know what happened but I want it to be 50 not 49,123123124

THANK YOU

Funny thing is that when I offseted a first circle with 50 mm, it goes to 50.123, but when I edit this 50.123 dimension and retype the 50 mm it is exactly 50 mm. But it can't work like that that I have to retyping all the dimensions forever.

See below:

File "2" is showing offseted circle with 50 mm, it gives me a 50.123

File "3" is showing that I edited this 50.123 and type 50 once again

File "4" is showing exactly 50 mm.

I downloaded your file, opened it (Inventor 2017), and created an offset circle in your sketch, typing 50 into the input box and hitting Enter. The dimension is exactly 50.00000 mm.

Can you describe your process in detail, or capture a Screencast video? I can't figure out how that happens for you.

In addition, you've made it much more difficult for yourself by setting your document units to show 0 decimal places, so errors like you've found aren't obvious. I strongly recommend setting your units display to at least 3 decimal places, preferably more-- then you can see when problems like this occur.

Hi! I have explained the reason why the dimension is displayed as 50mm, while the actual value is 49.xxx. This is due to Displace Precision (Go to Tools -> Document Settings -> Units -> Linear Dim Display Precision). You set it to 0. As a result, the digits after decimal point are ignored.

I think you would like to drag geometry to exact dimension. You will need to enable snapping. Here is what you need to do.

1) Go to Tools -> Document Settings -> Sketch -> Grid Display -> set 1 snap per minor. You can also make the change in template ipt file so the behavior will persis.

2) Go to Tools -> Application Options -> Sketch -> check "Snap to Grid" option.

Many thanks!
