opening .tmp files?

Hi,

We have worked at a project for a while in Autocad professional 2017. after a long brake we decided to start again, but we only have 1 file, and it is a XXXXXXXX.iam.dwg.tmp.

We cant open the file, please help us, we need it badly

None of that makes any sense..

Autocad? Don't you mean Inventor?

.iam.dwg.tmp? huh? iam is an assembly file.. dwg is a drawing file... tmp is a temp file created in the undo location... Why are you looking there?

If you have somehow lost your main model or drawing files (I'm still not sure what you were working on) then do you have backups?

Are you working on a network? or a local computer only?

Are the ipt files still there?

Are you sure you are looking in the proper folders?

Do you use project files and maybe just accidentally changed that?

Do you have a cad manager or cad drafter that is more familiar with the software you are using?

Hi Mcgyvr,
I see that you are absolutely correct, it is Inventor.
I got a file sent to me a while ago the extension .iam.dwg.tmp.
we have always been working with .iam so I don’t know how I got this file, but since the computer crashed this is the only file I have now (no back-up, network etc).
is it possible to save this file?
