Involute Spline generator

First up I am new to splines and gear, although I think it should be relatively straight forward.

For the life of me I can't get a spline feature on this shaft. Spline type/size/length etc.. is shown in pic. It previews which i know doesn't mean it will generate, and it doesn't 😞

Looking for any ideas as to what I am doing wrong. Have been at this all day and searched on forums and Machinery handbook and lots of other places.

Pack-N-Go attached of my effort so far. Only looking for the shaft spline ATM. Will do mating spline later in design run.

@bhenderson,

Click the fx button and turn to the calculation page, you will find the error message.

Try to fix it before generation.

Thanks for the input.

I don't understand what the Hub outside Diameter means. Have tried a few figures as 40, 50, 60 & 100 and all fail. Errors are shown below. Turning on Calcs seems to create more issues 😞

Can you elaborate please as the Help doesn't tell me much. Or can you add the spline to the dataset I supplied and upload it so I can see where I'm going wrong?

Found a video which gave me a clue. Need to select the orientation plane. Now it works. See the link below.

This is 1 component of Inventor that surely could do with a refresh. It's so not understandable!
