Inventor 2019 requires space on a disk that doesn't exist

Hi! I'm updating the software after a color scheme disaster in the 2018 version but now I can't install because it requires space on a disk that I don't have, how to do this?

This is very odd. The first thing that I would do is go into my system Disk Management module and find out what this blank drive is. Once you find it, you can decide what to do with it, the module will give you some options to take care of the issue. If it does not show up, I am at a lose of what is truly is.

Hi! I guess you have a lot of temp files in %temp% folder. Close all applications and go to File Explorer. Go to %temp% and delete all files.

What does Windows Disk Management show for drives and partitions. Does it show a 0 byte partition?
I would also unplug any USB devices that could be interpreted as storage, like memory card readers, phone, camera, even thumb drives.

Did this ever get solved? Ive been struggling with this for days. Nothing works! %temp% cleared, disk manager doesnt see the drive, both SSD's have plenty of space, 2022's new installer still throws similar error.

Im at work right now and cant check my PC at home, but I know the C: drive has a 174gb free, and my 😧 drive (the drive im trying to install to) has 878gb free.

I posted on Reddit and have been trying to get help there, please let me know (either here or there) if you have ideas!

It seems like you have a RAW disk partition that needs to be assigned a letter or formatted. Inventor just happened to not have a robust way to deal with this to ignore past it.

Looking up online for zero space partitions I found a few things to try (from least intrusive to most).

1- Update hard drive driver: Right-click on This PC/My Computer icon, select Manage and go to Device Manager. Expand Disk drivers, find and right-click on the 0 bytes hard drive which displays as no media, choose "Update driver". Select "Search automatically for updated driver software" and wait.

2- Run disk error checker: Open File Explorer and right-click on the 0 bytes HDD/SSD partition, select "Properties" and go to the Tools tab. Click on the Check button under the Error checking section.

3- Assign the partition a hard drive letter: Press "Windows+R" and type diskmgmt.msc and hit "Enter". The Disk Management window appears. Right-click on the hard drive that shows 0 bytes free space and choose "Change Drive Letter and Paths…". Click the Change drive letter button and choose a drive letter from the drop-down list.

4- Format 0 Byte RAW SSD/Hard Drive Partition to NTFS: Right-click on This PC/My Computer, select "Manage". Click "Disk Management", locate and right-click the 0 bytes hard drive partition, then choose "Format", and pick NTFS.
