Inventor Part - Change orientation

Hi there,

I created a multi body part and then used the Make Part command to export the outermost dimensions of the object. For extracting/exporting, I made use of the illogic codes and its working find.

The issue is the part is orientated in a certain angle and the extracted dimensions are calculated based on the bounding box. Please refer the images attached.

Anyway to re-orient the model to the bounding box or extract the true lengths of the model?

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, is there any way to extract dimensions from the measure tool ?

Could you please attach the file you want to orientate? The first thing to make sure is that the sketch for the part is modeled around the origin properly, but it's hard to tell exactly how you've done it.

Typically you would RC on the feature in the browser and redefine the sketch plane.

Given you have created this part in iLogic, I would think there should be a way with in your rule to re orientate it.

I personally am not good with iLogic so I can't help you there.

Hi! You can use Direct Edit -> Body -> Rotate or Move to re-orient the body.
