Hi! Strictly speaking, I don't think Inventor can simulate such deformation. It is because the deformation will require progressive change in radius, assuming there is no stretching or contraction.

If you just want to fake it by closing the gap gradually at a constant radius, it may be doable using Drive constraint and Adaptive.

The general principle is to Animate Parameters - you can adapt the general principle to whatever conditions you need. Can you provide more information on your Design Intent?

You left all of these details out of your problem description.

Can you Attach your assembly here?

If the assembly is proprietary - then simply Attach a dummy assembly that exhibits the same behavior of your proprietary data.

Also, include an additional relevant information (videos/links to similar mechanisms) that will enhance the efficiency of time spend developing a solution for your Design Intent.

... let's imagine trying to get this part out of the clamp,
when forcing the pincer with the piece, it would tend to abir but returned in position.
I tried with contact set, but the clamp does not return to normal nor open.

Is this only with dynamic simulation (animation) or with a component assembly?

This is a completely different situation than the one shown in the first picture.
Before we waste any more time on this issue, please describe what you really need, what you want to do, what you expect and what you need it for?
Simple deformations of an part can - in certain circumstances - be realized with adaptive parts. But - I say it again - we must exactly know what you want. You have to tell us more detailed.

Hello @creocatia3d indeed your design intent is not very clear. Can you supply an image or a sample of what you are trying to achieve?

From your explanations I'm envisioning something like an X-Acto knife holder?

What are you trying to get Inventor to do? Have an adaptive Collet that will compress as the Collar is tightened?

Something like this?

In the study environment, it was excellent. Perfect.
In this same example of yours, you would drag the piece with the mouse and it would deform to enter.
I thought about using contact set and flexible but without success.

Attached 3 examples how you can simulate / animate a deformation of a part in the iam-envioronment.
To see an animation do this:
- in the browser open the folder Relationships
- Right click the DRIVE_ME constraint
- Choose Drive and start the animation.

Although the examples were created with a German Inventor, the working principle should be recognizable.

If you understand the princip you should be able to decide if your project can be realized.

To animate a deformation of a part by dragging with the mouse I don't know a solution.

@creocatia3d no, dragging the part won't deform on screen using Contact Set, you have to Drive Parameters. It would work for a static tweezer with a single hinge point, but having it bend by dragging the mouse is a limitation.

Is there a reason you need to do this by dragging instead of running by known conditions?

The more information supplied about your design intent as a whole would be helpful in finding the best way to make this contraption your are envisioning.

Above are shown a lot of animations which show different techniques/methods to animate a deformation. Which of them do you mean?

And did you try to analyze the attached ipt's / iam's? Did you see the video posted by @kelly.young? What do you don't understand, at which point do you need supporting assistance?
