It is a lot of work to do but it is possible. I have attached a zip file containing a doomed part and an assembly it is used in. I have Extruded some text on the curved surface which at this time is 0.005" deep. You can change the depth by editing the OffsetSrf2 feature n the Domed Part.

The assembly file contains the Extrusion Cut as you requested. I do not know of a way to add color to just the extruded text.

It would seem to me that a well placed note on the assembly 2D drawing where the stamp should be would do the trick. A pretty picture is not going to make the job any easier or quicker. That is just my opinion.

Inventor 2019.2 assembly file and part zip is attached if you can use it.

Hello,

I am trying to emboss text on a curved surface. Is the emboss feature available in the assembly.

I do not want to emboss the text on the part. The emboss text is the last step in machining, manufacturing, and assembly of the components. Embossing the test on the part prior to the assembly is useless in my application.... the part gets painted several coats before being assembled... The paint coats will fill the embossed text.

What are you suggestions?

I have tried Extruded cut. This is a curved surface. I would have to cut 1" deep in order for all the letters to show. Not practical.

I found out how to do a reverse color on the extrusion if you need it.

Thank you for your response.

1) I am using Inventor 2018. I was not able to open the files that you sent.

2) I found the "Stitch" command in Inventor, but it is grayed-out: inactive, unusable, just like the Emboss command.

I put the emboss text in the part. I was hoping that I could "suppress" the emboss feature in the assembly drawing, but that was not an option.

For that I would make an ipart.. One member has the emboss and one has it suppressed..

Part level feature suppression (without using iparts) is not available at this time..

I did the same model, maybe different dimensions using the same process, in Inventor 2018. If you want to modify it, look back at my earlier post.

I still say it is too much work for the little benefit you get from doing it, again that is my opinion.
