Hi,

After the updating to Inventor 2019.2 it's impossible to use the edge or axis to constrain somethink in your assembly.

When you try to choose different elements, you can only select the faces.

It very hart to work in this way.

This is a change in 2019.2: it remembers what you last used, and that must obviously be a Flush type. Simply change to a Mate type and it will be as you are used to. Lots of other discussion about this in the forum, and Autodesk have committed to offering a user option to return to the previous default to always be the Mate type.

It threw me a curve just yesterday. It was still on Flush from the last use.

Hi! This has been one of the surprises in 2019.2. We are discussing how we are going to change the behavior for the better. So far, it seems logical to revert the legacy behavior. Regarding the ability to configure default or last used, it will be available when Preset becomes enabled in Constraint dialog.

Many thanks!

It might be nice to have all the command preferences/defaults in an XML file/table for users to edit as well as migrate to new versions.
