If you just right mouse click on the dimension you can change it decimal precision, edit it or change the text and only impact that drawing annotation. Now the only thing is that you can't change it to a reference dimension unless you edit the text and manually enter/type the brackets.

REFERENCE DIMENSION BRACKET & DECIMAL CHANGE COMMAND

In Autocad, you have this reference dimension command & decimal change command, this allows the user to quickly edit the dimension property quickly without going into the dimension editing dialogue box.

Is it possible to implement this on Inventor?

Does anyone know a quick way to do this on Inventor?

The goal is minimal clicks

There are many annotation commands in Autocad that is lacking in Inventor, why is this the case!

Hello @sguan1212,

Are you talking about Inventor drawing or modelling?

In the drawing, you can change it in the style editor, for modelling, please go to document setting for another try.

Thanks!

Inventor drawing that is.

I know style editor can change decimal places permanently, but I'm not aware if this can cover the brackets too, plus this setting will be applied globally, which is not what i want. I just want to just quickly edit some particular dimensions. Not all.

The decimal place change accessed from the right click work okay actually. But could be better. If that was a command icon, it would be much more convenient, you can just apply it to any dimension as you came across it.

The reference dimension bracket command icon is the elephant in the room. Looks like another one to go into the ladened idea station
