If you feel that the file is corrupt, you can always replace the family template. Save a version of the part to your desktop or wherever, then change the part as needed then save. When you go back to you CC editor, Right-Click on your family and choose "Replace Family Template". Next, choose the file that you had edited. You have now replaced the family template with what you had fixed in your part.

Hope that helps.

Good day all!

I have recently been setting up some standard components to Content center.

However I hit a small snag.

I set up a relativly close to standard flange. When I was happy with the parametric values I uploaded it to content center.

One of the properties I used was Material [Physical]. This was set to an a stainless steel variant.

However now I have a couple in my modell and need to change them to carbon steel instead.

So I open the content center. I change the value "Material [Physical]" to Steel, Carbon.

This updates the BoM content! which is good. However in the modell it still looks like stainless steel?

I tried both "rebuild all" and "Refresh" content center.

When this didn't work I found a guide to adding color to a content center object so I tried this aswell.

See picture below. Again sadly it did not work! I am now abit at my wits end. So any help would be much appreciated!

When you go to Manage > Content Center Panel > Refresh, does it show that the fastener is "Out of date"? If so, then make sure the line has a check to refresh that item, if you are using Vault, Make sure you are checking the file out, then checking back in.

I am not using vault so that shouldn't be the issue.

And after I updated the part I did Manage -> Control center -> Refresh.

When I did it the first time it said the part was out of date. So I updated it and nothing changed.

If I do it again it says all parts are up to date.

I have tried the solution presented in the video. It all works and I can choose material when I input the object into model.

However the modell still Shows in model view being made from stainless steel regardless of what material I add.

I think I have found the issue.

When I made the original part I assigned it a material.

Now when I change that material in content center it still looks as the original material regardless of what it is now.

I tried making a new part with no assigned material and then assigned it in content center... That ofcourse works exactly as it did in your video!

So now I have found the source of the issue. However I am no closer to figure out how to update the original in content center. I don't really want to replace it since it is allready used in some models.

Anyone got any idea how to "Unassign" an original material from a part in content center?

Changing material by means of the Content Center family table should work with any part. Is it possible that the Material column is not mapped to the Material iProperty?

Update: I see now that the material is changing, but not the appearance. Can you post an example file (a carbon steel flange placed from this CC family)?
