Parts with different names to appear as same in parts list on drawing

Hi,

I am working on projects that use extrusions to build side panels. the finished product has between 2 to 5 sections of side panels, with each section at different lengths. In order to control this I saved the same part profile as Extrusion_Panel_1, Extrusion_Panel_2... Extrusion_Panel_5 so that I can control the lengths of each panel via iLogic. However this then gives me 5 seperate parts in my parts list on the drawing,m which is not productive for the cutting list etc. Is there a way of merging all parts of the same profile so that the parts list shows the total quantity of extrusions required and what lengths? Thanks in advance.

Good morning! You can use Inventor iProperty data, like "Stock Number" to group files together in the Parts List of a drawing. I wrote a blog about it, which I've posted below. Inventor automatically merges rows with the same Part Number iProperty. Make sure that all the similar extrusions have the same part number, and you should see them as one line item.

Hi Pete,

So I've come across another issue on the same theme which I'm unsure how to resolve. I've added the stock number to all various parts which are independently controlled through iLogic, however, I am now trying to show all lengths of said Stock Number part in the length field, but it will only show one length, if more than one length exists, how do I get all lengths to be listed please? Thanks for your help with this.

Hi! It sounds like the Unit Quantity is not set correctly or the PartsList column substitution is not enabled. It is a bit hard to describe the workflow without seeing the files. Please share the files here so forum experts can take a look.
