So I am modeling a project which utilizes one way bearing and I need to add motion constraints for that bearing. I know how to do standard motion constraints but those traslate motion in either direction.

Hi! Please share the files here so forum experts can take a look. Or, you can google "Autodesk Inventor rotation constraint" and you will see quite a few Youtube videos or Screencasts showing the workflow.

Many thanks!

Ok here is a sample example, What I need since it is a one-way bearing I want the shaft when it rotates one way to rotate the bearing and when it rotates the other way to not rotate the bearing. Likewise, if I rotate the bearing one way it will free spin around the shaft and the other it rotates the shaft also.

What you are attempting to do is a particularly advanced concept in Dynamic Simulation.

It could be easily done in Inventor Studio if this is only needed for animation.

I noticed that the Shaft.ipt part is not constructed using best practice techniques.

Is this a school project?

No it is a personal/business project and somewhat proprietary which is why I just made a quick sample and if the constraints can’t be done on inventor it is ok. I’ll either just not worry about it or see if it is feasible in solidworks.

That will work I guess the reason I wanted the constraints is that the part constraints about 20 other things in an assembly. But Ill just animate it carefully. Thanks

I am confused about your true problem description.

There is a world of difference between simply adding assembly constraints and getting the physical dynamics of motion such as forces and friction between parts. Assembly constraints are easy. Motion Joints are more complex.

I assume you are attempting to model something >>like this<<.

I have a one way bearing model downloaded from a supplier I dont care about modeling the frictional forces or any of that I just want the joints to be constrained so that it resembles a one way bearing.

yes i also search one way bearings in content center, and rotation contraints in only one way cant be done like it seems,

any solution? i need a one-way bearing as a part for a modeling project that will be used further in dynamic sim.

This cirumstance is ridiculous
